A large group of Anglo-Saxon and Medieval silver, silver-gilt and bronze brooches, including sixteen ring brooches, one with a pair of praying hands clasping a pearl and a sapphire set in a raised mount, another in the form of a human figure and a crocodile, another in the form of a lizard; silver and bronze flat ring brooches with decorative borders, one of hexagonal form with four garnets set in the border, found at York, and another with upstanding bosses with traces of coloured glass; a large Anglo-Saxon pewter disc brooch with concentric circles of dots and scrolling in low relief; and a Frankish bronze buckle with central oval garnet incised with two birds flanking a cross -- 2 3/8in. (6.1cm.) across max., all 5th-14th Century A.D. (20)
