Worn by Miss Barbara Gerrow on her marriage in 1938 to Count Jacques d'Aigremont. Her mother, who married Louis Wenger, minister for oil in the French Foreign Ministry, in 1932, recalls that Vionnet delivered the "16th century wedding gown and the six bridesmaids' dresses" to the chateau near Auneau, 50 miles south of Paris in 1937.
