This was the dress Miss de Havilland wore when she dined at Chequers with Sir Edward Heath, when Prime Minister
She also wore it when presenting an Oscar in 1967 and the lot is sold with three photographs of her at that ceremony including one with Jane Darwell, Mrs Merriwether in Gone With The Wind
Princess Grace of Monaco also owned a version of this dress
