One 2pp. letter, dated Stowe, July 29th, 1736, describes the Doctor as: "certainly the most successful man of Business in the world, and indeed you deserve to be so, for you are without competition the most patient as well as the most diligent;" together with 5 other a.l.s. to Doctor Ayscough, including a 1p. a.l.s. by Thomas Pitt and 3 unsigned letters including a 5pp. a.l. by a member of the House of Lords [1757], describing the debates which took place in the House of Lords prior to the execution of Admiral Byng ("so inconstant and unjust are the judgements of the English -- you will conceal my name and let no one know whence your intelligence came").
