A similar lamp by Bright & Co. is illustrated Country House Lighting 1660 - 1890 Temple Newsam Country House Studies Number 4, Leeds City Art Galleries, plate 67.

The lamp exhibited at Temple Newsam House, which was lent by the Marquess of Tavistock and the Trustees of the Bedford Estate, was formerley at Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire.

John Bright appears to have shared the same address as Argand & Co. at No. 37, Bruton Street since at least 1805 and remained there until 1830. Argand and Co. cease to be mentioned in the directories after c. 1825.
