A rare, early handbook of printing, the practical part dealing with signatures, various formats, alphabets among them oriental ones, also runes. There is also a list of Latin abbreviations, medical and chemical signs and symbols, calendar signs and apothecary weights. The play by the Baroque poet, Johann Rist, bound in at the end is about the invention and art of printing. This was first published in 1654.
