With an arched rectangular panelled headboard crested by a finely chased spread-wing eagle flanked by leaf-tip formed ormolu finials above a panel flanked by pilasters headed by Egyptian female terms and an offset arched rectangular footboard applied with masks and berried-laurel drapery over a panel applied with an armorial trophy flanked by disengaged pilasters with corinthian capitals, on ormolu paw feet and moulded rails applied with foliate scrolls, signed 'Royer Sculpteur, Paris'--67¼in. (177cm.) high, 85½in. (217cm.) wide, 90in. (228.5cm.) deep

The signature is probably that of Royer et Fils which is recorded as having worked in Paris at 31, Boulevard des Capucines in 1850(See D. Ledoux-Lebard, Le Mobilier Français du XIXe Si©cle, 1984, p.567)
