(20 x 15 in.) including heavy card mount, enclosed in original printed protective envelope.Fine. Famous images depicting a beardless, resolute Lincoln just after his nomination for President. Hamilton and Ostendorf, Lincoln in Photographs, O-26 & O-27. -- INAUGURAL BALL, 1865. Engraved invitation to the Second Inaugural Ball, held in Washington, D.C., 4 March 1865, 1 page, small folio, engraved by the firm of Dempsey & O'Toole, an elaborate composition with large columns on either side, supporting American eagles, in the center are circular portraits of Lincoln and Johnson, in three columns below are listed the Ball's "managers" (mostly officers, including Grant and Sherman).
