A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU MUSICAL CLOCK MADE FOR THE TURKISH MARKET, the circular enamelled dial with Kufic chapters and conceived as a sunflower head flanked by leaves, on a tapering rectangular pedestal with overlapping stiff-leaf pierced sides backed by red varnish and on ball feet, on an acuated spreading plinth with central beeded panel with ribbon-tied flowers and fruiting cornucopiae, on red-varnished ground surmounted on either side by two turning two-handled urns, on turned bun feet, above a stepped rectangular socle with a central floral wreath with a vase of flowers flanked by two floral and palmette horns on re-varnished ground and with a fruiting stiff-leaf brace, on bun feet, the red varnish re-decorated, two feet later, the smoke finials probably originally patinated, minor losses, restorations, lacking musical work
