A pair of 19th Century mirrors of this pattern sold anonymously, Sotheby's, New York, 2 October 1993, lot 103. The group relates to a similar mirror illustrated G. Child, World Mirrors, London, 1990, p. 297, fig. 678. The latter appears to be the same mirror as that illustrated F.J.B. Watson, The Wrightsman Collection, New York, 1966, no. 209. A frame of this pattern, but with different engraving was sold Binoche et Godeau, 6 November 1991, lot 22.
The pattern has been credited to the Bremen cabinet-maker Burchard Precht, following the establishment of his Stockholm workshops in 1674 (see: G. Child, loc. cit.)
