A NEELDEWORK MIRROR worked with a king and queen under canopies, a lion, a unicorn, a leopard and a stag at each corner, a castle above and a fountain below, the king holds a book entitled "Songs of Wisdom", worked in coloured silks and metal threads in various stitches with some raised work, the castle has mica windows, the king and queen with seed pearl crowns and necklace, English, mid 17th Century in tortoiseshell frame and glazed -- 30 x 24in. (76 x 84cm.)
