Nine notes showing great vinosity and potential, yet with a tannic bitterness which ran through to the mid-1970s. Earthy, full of iodine and iron, its bouquet had reached perfection in 1978. Amazing depth and intensity in 1985; magnificent, with idiosyncratic tobacco taste, in 1986: a lovely, lively, fully opened-up wine in all repects. Tannins now softened. Sweet and ripe
