The painting on the present bowl may be compared with the border decoration, in similar colours, on the Brislington initialled Royal Portrait plate from the Lipski Collection, sale Sotheby's, 10 March 1981, lot 25, and for comparable examples of late 17th century English Delftware using this unusual 'hooked leaf' ornament see Louis L.
