The Jacquot dynasty of clock-makers flourished in Paris from as early as 1728 up until 1860. This clock is after the celebrated model delivered by Lepaute in September 1807 to the Chateau de Fontainebleau for the Chambre à coucher de l'appartement de la cour d'honneur (see J-P. Samoyault Pendules et bronzes d'ameublement entrés sous le Premier Empire, Paris, 1989, no. 26)
