engraving, 1585, first state (of three), watermark Eagle, a fine impression, trimmed just inside the platemark at the bottom, fractionally affecting one of the letters, and close to or fractionally inside the borderline on the other three sides, a vertical repaired tear(?) left of centre, two touches of pink heightening lower centre, some discolouration, slight paper-skinning on the reverse, lesser defects, S. 420 x 305mm.; and Allegory on the War (B. 108), engraving, 1578, third state (of five), trimmed just inside the platemark at the top and bottom, trimmed close to or just inside the subject on the other sides, a short repaired tear at the lower left corner, the lower left margin corner made up and touched in, slight paper-skinning on the reverse, other minor defects (2)
