a selection of thirty-one suras, manuscript on vellum, 51ff. plus one flyleaf, each with 12ll. of neat black naskh, punctuation in red, gold floral medallions between verses, gold margins between black rules, red outer rule, finely drawn two-colour gold and polychrome marginal medallions marking the divisions of text, sura headings in white on gold cartouches in gold and polychrome panels, (very occasional smudging), f.1r. with gold tughra of Sultan Mustafa II (1695-1703 AD), verso with illuminated heading panel predominantly in blue and gold, colophon at bottom of f.51r. signed by Haiz Khalil, further colophon in gold on verso stating the manuscript was owned by Sultan Mustafa bin Mehmet bin Ibrahim, ORIGINAL MAROON MOROCCO BINDING with gold rope-pattern border and stamped gold central medallion, pendants and spandrels filled with meandering floral sprays, simillar doublures with gold-sprinkled cusped medallion, (repaired)
