A BÖTTGER CHINOISERIE SLOP-BOWL of flared circular form, painted in the manner of Johann Gregor Höroldt with three figures playing backgammon and with a lady playing a lute with an attendant holding a cup of tea and a child at her side flanked by shrubs, birds and insects within elaborate iron-red, lustre and gilt scroll cartouches, the interior decorated in iron-red with stylised pagodas on a fenced wooded island within a similar cartouche and a gilt C-scroll and scrolling foliage border (restored rim chips, gilding rubbed), Dreher's mark for Hoppe, circa 1724
