Kikugawa Mitsuyuki studied under Yanagawa Naomitsu. Coming from a family of poets, he was also known as a master of haiku. His style of work is meticulous including the signatures. Unno Yoshimori once commented that it may have taken Mitsuyuki the whole day to engrave his signature.
