In his notes for 1867, Faed gave the picture this title and recorded that he sold it to the famous dealer, Gambart, for #300. It has all the artist's hallmarks, including the 'wag at the wa' clock, the teapot on the side, and the debris on the floor, not to mention his unmistakeable characterisation.
