A KATANA, the blade honzukuri, iorimune, kogissaki and koshizori with bohi each side extending almost through the tang, the hada obscured by fine surface scratches, komidare hamon of nioi and sparse ko-nie, midare-komi boshi and ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana (double), inscribed Bishu Osafune Norimitsu (on omote), and dated Bummei sannen (1471) hachigatsu no hi, 61cm. long; in kurokizami-saya with a stencilled paulownia design, iron kojiri, kurikata, uragawara, kuchigane and fuchi-kashira decorated en suite in gilt nunome-zogan with aoi-kurumamon and scrolling tendrils, gilt menuki formed as pairs of karashishi, and an iron tsuba decorated in takabori and takazogan with the Chinese sage Kiyoshiga seated fishing
