A MEISSEN FIGURE OF A PUTTO STIRRING A CUP OF CHOCOLATE, the figure scantily clad in a green drape, seated on a low stool beside a tripod table laden with a chocolate-pot and a cup and saucer, a kettle boiling on a brick oven beide him, on an oval base moulded with gilt scrolls (handle of kettle lacking and associated restoration, minute chips to base), blue crossed swords mark, Pressnummer 42, incised C.97. painted number 42; and a figure of a cherub in the guise of a wigmaker, wearing a lilac jacket and a pink drape and with his hair tied in a black bow, combing the wig on a stand (restoration to one wing, to bow and to left thumb and fingers), blue crossed swords mark, Pressnummer 125, incised 12, painted number 48, circa 1880
