Holland & Holland records confirm that the gun was built circa 1936, as the companion to gun No. 32303. No mention is made of the lack of finishing, but the present owner understands that his father-in-law, for whom the gun was built, may have wanted the gun urgently and, once having shot with it, was not concerned to return it for finishing
