Blade early 15th Century
The blade, shinogi zukuri with iori-mune and and with kaki-otoshi bohi (grooves) on both sides, koshi-zori, kogissaki, itame-masame of very soft configuration and with insinuations of yasuri, hakikake-boshi, hamon minutely ragged narrow suguba, principally in nioi and with two areas of greater and wide activity on both koshiba, extending approximately 9cm. from the hamachi, sudare-ba, ko-midare and slight kuichigai-ba, similar but much more discreet tempering in the monouchi, tang suriage, funagata with a medium, moist brown patina and traces of a removed mei, yasurime, katte-sagari, nakago-jiri of kengyo, two mekugi-ana, mei traces of one removed, 63.1cm.; mounts of uchigatana-goshirae, rubbed roiro-saya, gilt copper tsuba pierced and carved with an eagle and pine, shakudo and gilt menuki of Fuji, shakudo nanako fuchi-kashira with an eagle, monkey rockwork and ground plants in shakudo and gold
