The swagged oval wine-cooler relates to one formerly at Parham, Sussex and sold by the late 17th Baroness Zouche of Haryngworth, in these Rooms, 21 April 1966, lot 137. The latter differed from the present cooler in the fluted upper edge, guilloche carved lower edge and Ionic capitalled and panelled tapering legs. The cooler formed part of a dining-room suite which included two bowfront serving-tables and a pair of knife-urns and pedestals. The Parham wine-cooler was later sold from the Palm Beach Residence of Mrs. Charles Wrightsman, Sotheby's New York, 5 May 1984, lot 176 ($9,075).
