The reed-enriched and compass-fronted chairs have Grecian-tablet rails and pillared arms in the 'antique' manner popularised by Thomas Sheraton's, Cabinet-Maker, Upholsterers and General Artist's Encyclopaedia, 1804-1807, p. 16-17.
The stamp 'A. Busby' has been recorded on Regency chairs with reeded frames sold Dreweatt, Watson & Barton, 26 January 1983 The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers, Leeds, 1986, p. 136).
