The attribution has been kindly confirmed by Prof Dr Werner Sumowski in a letter of 18 September 1994, who compares the present lot with of The Rape of Europe, Tobias and the Angel and The Baptism of the Eunuch (see W. Sumowski, Gemälde der Rembrandt Schüler, IV, 1988, nos 1868, 1869 and 1870)
