A.A.M. Grimmon (1884-1953) was not only an interior decorater but was also connected as an architect to the Amsterdam Municipality. In the early twenties, Grimmon became especially known for his linear designs of modern furniture. In 1921 he, together with N.P. Koo, exhibited furniture which was meant for "families with a low income" at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. In the early 30s he was the first in Holland to design furniture completely made out of steel. The furniture offered for sale here belongs to this style. However, it was not the general public who took interest in this style but the world of the applied arts who became enthused in his severe designs.
