A GILT NORTH GERMAN DATED MONOGRAMMED SILVER MOUNTED GLASS TANKARD AND COVER, (Deckelhumpen), probably Potsdam, the squat cylindrical body gilt with an elaborate monogram within crowned Régence scroll flanked by two griffin supporters, above the inscription Ao 1752 and possibly d.8.März?, the reverse with a joker underneath the insciption Wie Kom ich du Heer, with loop handle, ring base, the edge gilt, with embossed domed silver cover, decorated with a band of floral scrolls, with a Danish coin depicting King Christian VI, inscribed to the from CHRIST.VI D.5. REX. DAN. NORV. V.G, to the back MARK. DANSKE III. C.W. 1731 and DEC. ET. POPULO around a royal crown, the cover inscribed H.A.S and B.L.D and 1786 connected with a foliated thumbpiece to the handle, the silver most probably Danish, Copenhagen
