Oval and on four stud feet, with beaded handles and similar border, engraved with scrolls and foliage, the centre with crest, motto and presentation inscription within oval cartouche, marked on reverse - 29in. (74cm.) long

The inscription reads 'PRESENTED TO Lady Henry Nevill ON HER MARRIAGE. BY THE TENANTRY ON THE CHIDDINGSTONE ESTATE, SEPT 12TH 1876'
The crest is that of Nevill for Violet, Lady Henry Nevill (d.1880), daughter of Col. Henry Dorrien Streatfeild D.L., J.P. of Chiddingstone Castle, Kent, and wife of Lord Henry Nevill, later 3rd Marquess of Abergavenny (1854-1938)
