LATE MING DYNASTY
The sides decorated with the Eight Immortals, each holding and standing atop their attributes amidst a band of frothing, dark green waves below a turquoise sky filled with multi-colored clouds and eight babao separating the lotus-filled lappets of the ruyi collar encircling the high shoulder, the tapering neck decorated with a continuous scroll of lotus blossoms alternating with four of the bajixiang, and with a petal-lappet border above the foot, the base enameled with a six-character mark zhi zheng xin mao nian zao, corresponding to a date of 1351, in a rectangular reserve flanked at the ends by a lotus leaf and lotus blossom; the domed, stepped cover encircled by two rows of lotus scroll below a reticulated finial of vaporous clouds, some wax infill--height overall 15¾in. (40cm.) high
