In the Gothic taste, the ovoid body on spreading foot, flat-chased with a zig-zag band, decorated with bands of stylized foliage enclosing circular cartouches depicting scenes from the crusades with coats-of-arms above, the neck with Latin inscriptions within fleurs-de-lys, all on a matted ground, with loop scroll handle and removable cover with flower form finial, marked on base and cover, the base stamped HUNT & ROSKELL LATE STORR MORTIMER & HUNT--13 1/4in.(33.2cm.) high
