The letter P , similar to the London date letter for 1810, is found on Chinese export silver of the second quarter of the 19th century, usually in conjunction with a pseudo-hallmark. See Forbes, Kernan & Wilkins, Chinese Export Silver , 1975, p. 76; also note 15, p.88, where it is suggested that P might be the same as WE/WE/WC.

Folding toastracks are rare in English silver, and are virtually unknown in Chinese export silver. An example by Cutshing is illustrated in Forbes et al., fig. 225, p. 244.
