Friedländer notes that in the simulated inscription on the border of Christ's robe are the letters 'AGLA' which also appear on Jan van Dyck's Ghent altarpiece and other paintings. There is a signed picture by van Dyck, dated 1438, in the Staatliche Museen, Berlin. Numerous replicas are known
