Of oval form, raised on four gadrooned scroll feet below a gadrooned rim and acanthus-clad gadrooned handles, the field engraved with a foliate scroll and flowerhead border enclosing a coat-of-arms, crest and motto within drapery mantling, marked under base--length over handles--26 3/4in. (68cm.)

The arms are those of Case of Ince quarterly with those of Ogle and Clayton and impaling those of Holt, as borne by Thomas Case of Thingwell Hall and Ince Hall, Lancashire, born in 1777. He married in 1801 Jane Sarah, eldest daughter of Edward Holt and died in 1845.
