Each of oblong form, the first with brickwork niello base and cover, enclosing on the base a shaped oval cartouche engraved JAD and on the cover a similar cartouche enclosing a niello scene of a man leading a horse and sleigh, marked on interior base and cover--4 1/2in. (10.8cm.) long the other with base and sides with niello trelliswork, the hinged cover with a scene of a family in a runaway horse drawn sleigh being chased by foxes, within a geometric border, marked on interior base and cover--4in.
