EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1775)
The oval polished brass plate has a slightly raised rim, and is carved in relief and openwork with the figure of Hotei in a punt, with a child at his feet next to his sack. Hotei points to a silver moon in clouds at the top left on face of the plate. The reverse depicts Hotei's back with clouds and a stream in low relief carving--height 7.7cm., width 7.5cm., thickness 5.25mm.
