Of oblong form, with a flaring foliate and shell rim, on four lion's-paw feet with headed by acanthus, the two open reeded handles issuing from lion-masks, the domed cover with a band of chased lobes, the leaf-clad open handle with lion-masks issuing from a calyx of acanthus, the body engraved front and back with a coat-of-arms and motto within foliate mantling, marked on base, cover, and handle--17¼in. wide (43.82cm.), 10in. high (25.4cm.)
