This maker's work, while small, is of the highest quality. Two cordial pots by him, both with maker's mark only are known; one is in the Collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the other, formerly in the collection of Lord Bagot, is in the Untermyer Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Other pieces include a group of small items such as travelling canteens and spice boxes finely engraved with decoration based on the designs of Simon Gribelin.
Dwarf candlesticks of this type were probably included as part of a dressing table service. A pair of 1685, maker's mark IL, 4 3/4in. high, were sold by Sotheby's, London, April 29, 1976, lot 129. Another pair of 1684, maker's mark of Pierre Harache, virtually identical to the present pair, is in the Huntington Collection, San Marino, California.
