The arms are those of Sir George Abercromby, 4th Bt., born in 1750. He married in 1778 the Hon. Jane Ogilvie, eldest daughter of Alexander, 7th Lord Banff, by whom Sir George succeeded to the estates of the House of Banff. The inscription on the reverse of the present lots records its presentation on August 12, 1828 to mark their 50th wedding anniversary.
