A PAIR OF FINE WILLIAM IV SILVER-GILT TEA CADDIES AND TWO MATCHING CADDY SPOONS

Each of shaped deep rectangular form on four foliate scroll feet rising to acanthus, the rims with applied foliate scroll and rocaille decoration, each side elaborately flat chased with a foliate scroll and rocaille cartouche on a matted ground enclosing trelliswork, one end engraved with a crest and Marquess' coronet, the hinged domed cover with similar decoration and flower finial, marked under bases, cover and finials, the bases also stamped STORR & MORTIMER and numbered 1 and 3 and with scratch weights 38,9 and 38,3--7 1/4in. (18.4 cm.); the spoons in two sizes, with shell bowl and reeded openwork stem with shell decoration and acanthus and shell terminal, the bowl engraved with the same crest and coronet, marked on bowls--length of larger spoon 5 1/8in. (13cm.)
