The case with turned finial to the stepped and gadrooned top, ripple moulded cornices, with gilt brass cornucopia ring handles to the sides above silk-backed arched fish scale sound frets, the front door with chamfered angles and gadrooned bats' wing mouldings to the top, with Moorish arch door and conforming silvered bezel, on stepped base raised on bun feet, the arched and silvered dial engraved with a Roman chapter ring and signed in the centre A. Purvis North Audley St. Grosvenor Sq.e, with blued steel moon hands, subsidiary strike/silent ring above, the twin wire fusee movement with shouldered plates, anchor escapement and strike on bell, repeat signature and pendulum holdfast to the backplate
