Baluster-shaped, on reeded circular foot, the partly panelled and faceted sides engraved with borders of scrolls and diaperwork, the hinged domed cover with ball and acorn finial, the spout with hinged cover, engraved with a shell, the body later engraved twice with initials 'XS' beneath earl's coronet, marked on base and cover, the base additionally engraved with scratchweight '23=12=0'
