A collection of autograph letters by musicians, writers and other personalities to members of the Dannreuther family, 1892-1964, on a variety of subjects, some with original envelopes, the signatories including musicians and composers such as Hubert Parry, George Grove (regarding writing his book on King David), Harold Samuel, Charles Stanford (to Edward Dannreuther, 'the coast is clear for the Trio with you in January'), James Friskin and others; writers such as Shane Leslie, Oscar Browning (four letters on various subjects such as Bayreuth, war and his work) and Sheila Fry; together with a letter signed by Henry Irving in the hand of his secretary Bram Stoker, and others including William Crookes (to Aglaia Coronio), Elizabeth Blackwell, Gerald Moira, Eugenia Romanovski, H.B. Brabazon, Walter Leaf and Admiral Beatty (to Rear Admiral Hubert Dannreuther after the Battle of Jutland - Dannreuther was one of 6 survivors of HMS Invincible). Provenance.
