A George III ebonised and brass-mounted striking bracket clock with quarter repeat and alarm

The case with brass handle to inverted bell top, with conjoined C-scroll and shell mount to the front and pineapple finials to the angles (later), with two brass-lined glazed panels to each side, the front door also brass lined and with fretwork panels (later frets) to the top, with stepped and moulded base and raised on foliate-cast scroll feet (later), the brass dial with foliate spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, plain centre with date aperture, blued steel hands and arrow alarm-setting hand, the arch above with engraved border and subsidiary silvered strike/silent and pendulum regulation rings, with recessed silvered panel between signed Ayns.th Thwaites Clerkenwell London, the five pillar twin gut fusee movement with verge escapement and hour strike on bell, with pull quarter repeat on six bells and alarm on four bells, the backplate profusely engraved with foliate scrolls and a basket, with pendulum holdfast
