Sold with handwritten note stating that the necklace and pendant, brooch and earrings 'originally belonged to Mrs Rice (née Elizabeth Austen afterwards Knight) b.1800-d.1883 and then left to B.A.M. Anderson'. Elizabeth Austen was Jane Austen's niece. Born on the 27 January 1800, she was the sixth daughter of Edward Austen, Jane Austen's brother, who later took the surname of Knight. She married Edward Royd Rice of Dove Court, Kent on 6 October 1818 and they had fifteen children
