The domed cover with berried finial, flanked by upright fantastic beast head handles, painted after Rembrandt with a self-portrait and his spouse Saskia in the scene of the Prodigal son in the tavern, identified in German on the underside, within finely tooled foliate cartouche, the cover, neck and socle similarly gilt with stiff-leaf tips
