The silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals and pierced hands, surmounted by an arch with two dials, one labelled CHIME/SILENT, the other CHIME ON EIGHT BELLS/WESTMINISTER CHIMES, all within pierced and scrolled mounts, behind a glazed arched door, flanked by Corinthian columns surmounted by five flaming urn finials, each side set with a bail handle above an arched sounding panel with pierced scale pattern grill backed with red cloth, the reverse with arched door inset with later pierced cross and circle pattern grill backed with red cloth, on a molded rectangular base and acanthus-sheathed scrolled feet
