SUPERB PRIVATE AND COMMERCIAL STOCKS OF TOP SPANISH WINES
Lots 1319 to 1895
The following section represents possibly the finest and broadest range of Spanish wines ever offered for sale at Christie's. The vast majority of these wines have been shipped from good cellarage in Spain, having been inspected and packed by Christie's staff. Rioja, Spain's premier wine region, features large, with a spectacular range of vintages offered, stretching back to 1890. Most of the leading Bodegas are represented and there are special sections dedicated to the wines of Marques de Riscal, Marques de Murrieta and CVNE. Individual highlights include a bottle of La Rioja Alta 1890 - the Bodega's maiden vintage, several vintages of Castillo Ygay Reserva Especial with a large parcel of the outstanding 1925 vintage and large quantities of Marques de Riscal Reserva from the 1920's. The final part of the section is devoted to Ribera del Duero and in particular Vega Sicilia, regarded by many as Spain's finest wine. Over 25 vintages of this wine are presented, dating back to 1921. This represents an remarkable opportunity to buy one of the world's finest and rarest wines in reasonable quantities.

Bodegas Toro Albala is one of the smaller bodegas in Montilla, yet it produces some of the regions finest wines in minute quantities. The following lots have recently been removed from the Bodega's cellars
