A Buen Retiro figure of Bacchus
Circa 1760-65, manganese fleur-de-lys mark, incised cross and circle mark
With a garland of grapes and vine leaves about his head, a goat's pelt slung over his right shoulder and tied at his chest, seated naked on rockwork, his left hand in a barrel of grapes, his raised right hand holding a wine-glass, on a waised square pierced foliage scroll-moulded rococo base (right arm a replacement, small chip to back of head and pelt, base with two very small chips, firing cracks and staining)
