The front centrally-set with an oval-cut sapphire weighing 42.62 carats within old mine-cut diamond surround suspending articulated knife-edge floral and collet-set diamond detail and floral scrolls to the continuing backchain, mounted in silver and gold, circa 1860, with red leather fitted case, 45.5 cm. long
With certificate 965462 dated 24 March 2000 from the London Precious Stone Laboratory stating that the sapphire is of Sri Lankan origin showing no evidence of heat treatment
